As far as the fashion rotation goes, it's been a while since we've seen culottes come around again. Originally a men's style during the Renaissance in France, culottes evolved into the wide split skirt that women on horseback wore to sit astride a men's saddle versus the more "ladylike" side-saddle. The modern day wide leg cropped culotte is a style that first became popular in the thirties, then the seventies, and lucky for us, again now. We love the proportions of crop tops paired with the wider pants or a draped blouse tucked in and a structured jacket. Above are a selection of styles that are inspiring us to create our own take on this age old fashion.
