Chris Crossen’s work engages deeply with color and pattern. Interactions of cells, waves, circles and other primary shapes and patterns center upon delivering sensations of contrast and balance, movement, depth and stasis. Inspired by landscapes around the world (including the mountains surrounding his Lake Tahoe studio), Chris employs various watercolor and acrylic techniques to explore abstraction. His paintings arise from a desire to capture color and form within basic compositions, exploring the interplay between continuity and natural processes.
