Suna Lock, creative director of Stripe Design Group and one of the owners of Stripe and Stripe MEN, recently repainted and tiled her stairs for a quick facelift of the entryway to her 140 year old Victorian nestled into Downtown Santa Cruz. Since the chatter and excitement about Suna's mini remodel has taken over the office, we were motivated to round up some of our favorite images of staircases , including Suna's, that inspire us.

In Suna's newly painted space, rich teal walls and a matte black ceiling bring the drama into her sweeping staircase entryway. Suna took a weekend and tiled each of her stairs with a colorful selection of handmade Spanish tiles.

We love the height and contrast of this next staircase. The stark difference between the black stairs and white walls is brilliant and dramatic as the stairs seemingly melt into the dark wood floors.

A quick and easy update is that pictured below of an ombre painted staircase. A fun weekend project, this idea could be beautifully executed using a number of colors.

We love the muted colors of these rulers that have been repurposed to decorate this staircase. This idea works particularly well here with the dark wood on the tops of these stairs. It would be wonderful recreated in a farm house or industrial work space.
